   Hello! As you can see the name of my blog is MediaFix, hopefully that gives you an idea of what I'll be posting. But, if you need to know more, this blog will be documenting the process of my Aice Media studies course and my work throughout the year.

   Now that's through, let's get to introductions. Although I can't say my name, I can tell you a little about myself. If you know me, you'll know I'm into good quality films. This means I will not be wasting my time watching mediocre productions just because they are popular. I also love cats, don't get me wrong, dogs are awesome, but you don't have to take a cat for a walk. Now if we're being honest, I hope we can agree that fish are ultimately the worst pet. Here's a list of reasons why: They are NOT soft and cuddly, I don't suggest you test this..., reason 2, you must clean their tanks all the time because they live in their own waste, lastly, they're plain boring.

  My favorite movie genres are action/comedy and adventure. I especially love movies that take place in the jungle or rainforest, Rio for example. Another favorite of mine is when people get to experience things from a "smaller" perspective, or when people get shrunk. The Movie Epic is the perfect example of this. Some of my hobbies include soccer, sketching, and watching TV. Shows I'm currently watching are 'Suits (2011)' and 'The Mandalorian', for the second time. That seems like about all I have to say to introduce myself, hopefully this blog can help give you insight on the Aice Media Studies course, or just simply help you learn with me.

Filming the Michael Bay camera movement.

Welcome back to MediaFix! In one of my previous blogs I spoke about researching and learning camera movements for cinematic footage. Below is the footage I shot, practicing the shot, after learning the key steps.    Michael Bay shot, March 20, 2024, By MediaFix I shot this by first placing my character at a higher angle from the camera Then, I moved them in the opposite direction than I moved the camera, so the character was moving to the left while I was moving to the right. I used an fps of 25 but if I were to shoot this again I would move the camera faster to create a more energetic look, or raise the fps and slow down the shot in editing for a slow motion look. The angle I used was low but not low enough to create the effect I wanted to, so I would also tilt the camera higher and start lower in my next attempt.  By learning of the Michael Bay shot I can take our film to the next level cinematically wise, and, by practicing the shot I have learned what I should change ...

Learning to control exposure: camera settings

 Welcome back to MediaFix! Understanding camera settings is essential when fixing overexposure. I needed to know how to use settings like ISO, shutter speed, and aperture during my last film. While I had a basic understanding, I did not fully know how to use them to my advantage in changing the look of a scene.  Multiple factors of settings play a role in controlling exposure in a shot. One I struggled with was understanding how to use was shutter speed. Shutter speed is the amount of light a camera takes in. Because of this, a slower shutter speed will have longer exposure, and faster will have shorter exposure. Applying this knowledge when trying to fix overexposure while filming is key. So if my shot is underexposed, I will need to lower the shutter speed to raise the brightness without using ISO. Production day 3

 Welcome back to MediaFix! Due to issues on the other two production days, most of our film would have to be filmed on our last day, production day 3. It was necessary every crew member would come and all materials were available. Upon arrival at our filming location, our actor and other crew members prepared for filming. There were not many challenges throughout filming this day except restricted time. Due to this challenge, we were not able to film all 30 shots.
