Production day 2- filming our chess piece part 2

Hi and welcome back to MediaFix! Filming our chess piece was difficult for many reasons, and here is why continued.

In addition to the difficulty determining distance and location, an issue we struggled with was moving the chess piece. Our shots required most to all of the chess piece in frame so we had to be creative when moving our character around. One example of this is in the shot where the chess piece is shaking and about to grow. Finding a way to move the chess piece without ourselves in frame was very difficult, we were restricted from using string because that would take too much work of the editor to cut out and hands in the shot is also not ideal.

The original solution was to spin the chess piece like a dime, we thought if we spin the character it would continue spinning into our shot. However, this did not work, the crew member spinning the piece was not quick enough to remove themself from the shot before it stopped spinning, and the spinning was too fast for the drama it was supposed to display. 

So a different solution was required, after thinking, using a stick to move the chess piece was most likely to work. Fortunately, it did work and we used this method again when moving our chess piece, and the miniature cane throughout production.

I used an fps of 25 but if I were to shoot this again I would move the camera faster to create a more energetic look, or raise the fps and slow down the shot in editing for a slow motion look. Learning to control exposure: camera settings

 Welcome back to MediaFix! Understanding camera settings is essential when fixing overexposure. I needed to know how to use settings like ISO, shutter speed, and aperture during my last film. While I had a basic understanding, I did not fully know how to use them to my advantage in changing the look of a scene.  Multiple factors of settings play a role in controlling exposure in a shot. One I struggled with was understanding how to use was shutter speed. Shutter speed is the amount of light a camera takes in. Because of this, a slower shutter speed will have longer exposure, and faster will have shorter exposure. Applying this knowledge when trying to fix overexposure while filming is key. So if my shot is underexposed, I will need to lower the shutter speed to raise the brightness without using ISO. Production day 3

 Welcome back to MediaFix! Due to issues on the other two production days, most of our film would have to be filmed on our last day, production day 3. It was necessary every crew member would come and all materials were available. Upon arrival at our filming location, our actor and other crew members prepared for filming. There were not many challenges throughout filming this day except restricted time. Due to this challenge, we were not able to film all 30 shots.
